Things to do in Olympia and the South Sound for November 24th Thanksgiving in 2016 include Seattle & Washington celebrations all weekend including the Macy’s Parade, the Holiday / Christmas Tree lighting events, Black Friday sales (Buy Local!), and more! Parades have also become an integral part of the holiday.
The Olympia Downtown Association produces a downtown extravaganza each year on the Sunday after Thanksgiving in downtown Olympia to kick off the holiday season. This event is brought to you by the Olympia Downtown Association and through donations of downtown businesses, sponsors, membership dues and volunteers.

Olympia, Washington’s premier Thanksgiving Day family fun run: 4-miles of walking, jogging, or running to kick-off the holiday season! All finishers receive a finishing medal and pie… lots and lots of pie (purchased from a locally owned and operated bakery). OLY Trot supports the Thurston County Food Bank in 3 ways every year through food donation, donation of money and donation of time.
