Children’s Museum Olympia: Open 7 days a week
The Hands-on- Children’s Museum of Olympia is one of my favorite places to go when my grand kids visit. The address is 414 Jefferson St NE Olympia, WA 98501. Phone (360) 956-0818. It is a nationally-recognized facility that is one of the largest tourist attractions in Olympia. It is the place to go for hands-on fun and learning for children, parents and teachers. Voted The Best Fun Place for Kids for more than a decade, the museum provides exciting, hands-on exhibits in eight galleries for children aged birth through 10 years, and features a variety of exhibit topics including early learning, construction and design, healthy lifestyles, the environment and art.
Some of the attractions at the Hands on Children Museum include cargo ship, model tide pool, boat building area, a gallery of changing exhibits, the Pier and Snug Harbor the forest.& a big slide. One of the most popular events is the First Friday of the month free program from 5:00 pm -9.00 pm. Upcoming free nights include Winter Wonderland – play with the fake snow; around the world – have fun making international music and art. The museum’s many education programs include an early learning program, a preschool, a model field trip education program for elementary students and an extensive day camp program.
